Who Needs Us?

We are here to help assist those who may be able to help themselves, but would benifit from having a helper with day to day activities.

What type of services do you provide?

We provide flexible, affordable, non-medical services by friendly, reliable Living Assistants who perform such tasks as companionship, light housekeeping, meal preparation, and local errands to doctor visits, for blood work, pharmacy, and grocery shopping, etc. Our Living Assistants essentially provide seniors with their daily living activities in their own homes, as opposed to assisted living facilities, nursing homes or moving in with relatives. Peoples Home Helpers also serves as extended support and relief to family members who are caring for their loved ones.

How much can I expect to pay for an Home Helper?

Our Living Assistants are all employed directly by Peoples Home Helpers on an hourly basis and are paid directly by the company. For live-in care, we offer a flat-daily-rate. You are never responsible for the employee's payroll taxes, benefits, Social Security withholdings, W2, etc. Peoples Home Helpers handles all employee payroll matters. You are invoiced directly from Peoples Home Helpers on a biweekly basis. Please call to discuss our reasonable rates.

Does Medicare cover In-home Non-Medical Senior Care?

No, Medicare does not cover non-medical services in the home. Most families use private funds to pay for the in home services, which are much less costly than Assisted Living or Nursing Home facilities.

How do you screen your employees?

Our screening process is extremely diligent and all of our living assistants are all individually interviewed in person, complete an in-depth employment application, are legally able to work in the United States. Our living assistants are thoroughly screened by full criminal background check, fingerprints, and bonded.

May I meet the living assistant prior to coming to my home?

Yes, you may meet the living assistant we have chosen for you prior to reporting to work in your home. We will typically assign the best person for your needs. Our consultation really helps us understand the needs and daily lifestyles of seniors, which we utilize to assess the best available In-home caregiver for your aging loved one. If you are ever not happy with any living assistant we can always make a change.

Why should I use Peoples Home Helpers rather than an individual with an ad in the newspaper?

There are several reasons why Peoples Home Helpers should be your choice for senior companionship and home care. • Our Living Assistants are screened, bonded and insured for your safety. • They are trained specifically in elder care and have demonstrated a sincere desire to work with seniors. • We handle living assistant’s payment and withholding taxes as required by law. • If you hire an individual, he or she may get sick or move away and you’ll have to find someone new. Is Peoples Home Helpers a cleaning company or maid service?

No, but living assistants can provide light housekeeping, laundry and ironing.
